
Award-winning Lebanese filmmaker and 2023’s Screen Star of Tomorrow, Nour Wazzi directed her debut Netflix feature thriller ‘Locked In’ written by Rowan Joffe (’28 Weeks Later’, ‘Tin Star’), with producers Nicky Bentham (‘Moon’) and Alison Jackson (‘Tin Star’), starring Famke Janssen (‘X-Men’), Rose Williams (‘The Power’), Finn Cole (‘Peaky Blinders’), Alex Hassel (‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’) and Anna Friel (‘Marcella’). The film immediately shot through to GLOBAL no.1 with 100 million views in just a couple of months. Nour is the first female and first Arab director to be greenlit by the Netflix UK originals team.
Following a number of award-winning shorts and BBC3’s ‘The Break’, Nour directed on the Netflix sci-fi adventure show ‘The Last Bus’ starring Robert Sheehan (‘Umbrella Academy’) and upcoming talent including Lauryn Ajufo (‘Luther’) and Moosa Mustafa (‘Wednesday’) that aired in April 2022, making her one of the first Arabs in the UK to break into high-end TV.
